RARE. Circa 1920-30.

Description:

Gorgeous purse from France.

The frame is floral repousse with gold wash (likely over silver aka vermeil); applied floral sprays are enameled in pink, yellow and green with their centers being set with genuine faceted rubies, sapphires and emeralds. Additional clusters of bezel mount cabochon emeralds, surrounded with faceted rubies. Cabochon 'bullets' forming the finials of the purse closer. Gold wash chain.

The outer fabric of the purse being gold and silver bouillon brocade (missing the bouillon trim that covers the attachment at the frame; the interior being yellow ribbed silk, including the pleated, self-fabric pocket on the one interior side.

Condition:

The interior has some soiling and the inner pocket could use the elastic being replaced. The outer brocade is soiled. No damage noted to frame, chain nor the jewels. Some wear to the gold wash on the chain. Overall, EXCELLENT CONDITION.

Marked:

On the inner frame, impressed “Made in France”.
