Every child has dreamed of owning and operating antique toy trains. Based on that assumption, many manufactures introduced to the public what become today’s antique Toy Trains.
Perhaps the most famous was Lionel, introduced in 1902 by Joshua Lionel Cowan. Spurred by the fascination, other manufactures such as American Flyer, Ives, Marklin, Bing, Marx, J. C. Penny and Sears & Roebuck introduced antique toy trains to the American public. The fasination of collecting antique toy trains has continued thru the ages.
