Enameled antique glass encompasses all periods, Victorian to Vintage. The expertise of artists is reflected in colorful floral and portrait hand work on glass in many antique and vintage forms. At the height of the Victorian era, both the utilitarian glassware such as water pitchers, tumblers, antique table sets, vases, powder jars, rose bowls, cruets were adorned with the artistry of that time. Enameled glass ware could be as simple as gold gilt, or more detailed forms of raised enamel depicting scenes and florals; and could be applied to both pressed and blown glass types. Companies such as the Northwood Glass Company, the Fenton Glass Company, Moser Glass Company, many New England glass manufacturers were prolific producers of artistic work on antique and vintage glass.
